🍽️ Mission Monday: It's National School Lunch Week! 🍽️
We’re celebrating the nutritious meals that fuel our students every day! President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and its impact inside and outside the classroom.
✅ Did you know? Filling out the free and reduced meal application doesn’t just benefit your family—it helps our entire school district! Increased participation can secure more funding for important programs and resources that support every student’s success. Fill out the form here: https://linqconnect.com/public/meal-application/new...

Fire Safety in Action: Third Grade Learns with St. James Fire Protection District!🚒🐯🔥
Yesterday, 3rd grade students had a hands-on lesson in fire safety! Students explored a "mock house," discussing everyday hazards in the kitchen, living room, and bedroom. They practiced navigating a smoke-filled room and safely escaping through a window. Afterward, they toured the fire trucks and learned about firefighting tools.
A huge thanks to the St. James Fire Protection District for this valuable experience. Be sure to talk with your child about fire safety and create a family emergency plan!

Learning Highlight: Fall Fun with Pumpkin Jack at Lucy Wortham James Elementary! 🎃🧡🐯
Mrs. Henderson is bringing the magic of pumpkins to all of our Tiger Cubs classrooms this week! She’s reading Pumpkin Jack by Will Hubbell, a sweet story about a boy who watches his carved pumpkin transform through each season—from Jack-O'-Lantern to a new pumpkin sprout.
Then students will design their very own Pumpkin Jack! Mrs. Henderson will pick her favorite design and carve it over the weekend. As the weeks go by, the students will watch their Jack decompose just like in the story!
Pumpkins, science, and creativity all wrapped into one fun fall activity! 🍂 #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride
