Mrs. Henderson is bringing the magic of pumpkins to all of our Tiger Cubs classrooms this week! She’s reading Pumpkin Jack by Will Hubbell, a sweet story about a boy who watches his carved pumpkin transform through each season—from Jack-O'-Lantern to a new pumpkin sprout.
Then students will design their very own Pumpkin Jack! Mrs. Henderson will pick her favorite design and carve it over the weekend. As the weeks go by, the students will watch their Jack decompose just like in the story!

Learning Highlight: Ancient Adventures in 2nd Grade! 🖌️🎨🦣
2nd graders recently took a journey back in time, exploring the world of cave art! With flashlights, they descended into their own “caves,” imagining what life was like during ancient times. Their “cave walls” became canvases for stories of the past, bringing history to life. Learning about art history has never been this fun! #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

Middle school students in Ag class showcased their creativity and research skills by designing dioramas for their Animal Science unit! Our 1st graders had an exciting visit from Sergeant Chris Giacolone of the Rolla Police Department last week! He shared what it's like to serve as a police officer, showed them his gear, and the students even got to check out his patrol car!

Students from Lucy Wortham James Elementary, St. James Middle School, and St. James R-1 High School recently came together for cheer camp! The older cheerleaders mentored our younger Tigers, leading them through team-building activities and teaching one cheer and one dance. This week, their hard work took center stage during halftime at the JV football game, where they performed for the crowd!

LWJE’s Student of the Month program is back in action! Each month, they spotlight students who go above and beyond showing important values and character traits. For September, the focus was on EMPATHY.
Throughout the month, students across all grade levels will participate in classroom challenges that encourage them to embody the "Word of the Month" in their daily lives. At the end of the month, each teacher will select a student who has truly embraced the spirit of the word. These students will be recognized as the "Students of the Month!”
