In March, LWJE students rose to the challenge and acted with courage. Whether it was standing up for what's right, trying something new, or pushing through a tough moment, bravery was on full display. March's Word of the Month was COURAGE!
Throughout each month, students across all grade levels will participate in engaging classroom challenges that encourage them to embody the “Word of the Month” in their daily lives. At the end of the month, each classroom teacher will select a student who has truly embraced the spirit of the word. These students will be recognized as "Students of the Month.”

Tiger Highlight: Read Run Serve in Action at James Memorial Public Library! ❤️🐯📚
Earlier this week, Read Run Serve students went above and beyond by donating books to the Friends of the Library Book Sale! Watching these students take action to support literacy and share their love of reading is nothing short of inspiring. Their generosity is a reminder that big changes start with small, meaningful steps.

Learning Highlight: Science & Engineering Fun! 🎈🐯🤍
The STJ Middle School STEM Club explored surface tension by experimenting with balloons. The elastic polymers in balloons allow them to stretch, and when punctured slowly in the right spots, they don’t pop! Then, students got creative with engineering, building everything from baskets to roller coasters using just paper plates and limited supplies.

Tiger Highlight: 7th Graders Taking the Lead! ❤️🐯🤍
In Mr. Sider’s advisory class, students are making a difference! For 30 minutes, Monday through Thursday, they take on service projects around their building.
This hands-on experience is open to 7th graders who stayed on top of their assignments in 6th and 7th grade, giving them the opportunity to contribute to their school, take on new challenges, and build valuable skills.

Learning Highlight: Future Dentists in Training! 🦷🐯✨
Ms. Cindy’s preschoolers stepped into the world of dentistry recently, taking turns as both dentists and patients! They practiced greeting patients, guiding them to the dental chair, and even created bar graphs based on how many teeth their friends had in each quadrant.
They also learned the importance of brushing twice daily, flossing, and even brushing their tongues (because no one wants bad breath!). To top it off, each student went home with a new toothbrush and toothpaste—ready to keep those smiles shining! #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

First graders had a blast in the library as they teamed up for a math breakout challenge! Using their current math skills, they worked together to solve puzzles and unlock clues on the iPads.
