The assembly was packed with fun and friendly competition that brought everyone together. 🌟 Tiger Highlight: Honoring Teamwork at Lucy Wortham James Elementary! 🌟 This November, LWJE students came together to showcase what teamwork is all about! From classroom collaborations to group challenges, our Tigers have been demonstrating the power of working together. November's Word of the Month was TEAMWORK! Each month, students dive into activities designed to help them live out the Word of the Month in meaningful ways. At the end of the month, teachers select one student from their class who truly embodies the word. These standouts are recognized as our Students of the Month! Learning Highlight: Building Financial Independence!💰🐯📚 5th-grade students are developing positive behaviors and real-world skills through their Class Bank system! By earning "money" with classroom jobs and managing expenses like desk "rent," they’re learning responsibility and financial independence. Their recent class auction was a huge success! Students carefully spent their savings on fun rewards like snacks, games, and special teacher visits, gaining valuable experience in budgeting and decision-making. Learning Highlight: Decking the High School Library with Literary Cheer! 🎄✨📖 English 1 students are bringing stories to life this holiday season! They've been decorating the library's trees with handmade ornaments inspired by their favorite book characters, each paired with a thoughtful reflection. This event brought together amazing artwork from talented students at Rolla Middle School, Owensville Middle School, and right here in St. James. At St. James R-1, we believe in the power of the arts to inspire creativity and grow confidence. Winners from each category earned the opportunity to showcase their work at the Elementary and Junior Beta State Convention in January! Learning Highlight: Anatomy in Action! 🧠⚕️🔍 Mrs. Stack's Anatomy & Physiology students recently participated in the Adventures in Medicine and Science (AIMS) outreach program at Saint Louis University! AIMS, a youth community outreach program, teaches human anatomy, medicine, health education, and wellness to students. During their visit, students engaged in cadaver demonstrations at SLU’s state-of-the-art lab, making real-world connections to their studies. #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride
