Winter weather has created a challenging school year, and with additional storms in the forecast, St. James R-1 School District will begin using Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) for future closures.
Missouri schools may use up to 36 hours of AMI per year, allowing students to continue learning even when in-person classes are not possible. Our district’s AMI plan ensures that students receive assignments through classroom communication tools and/or learning packets to reinforce or enrich key learning concepts.
How AMI Days Work:
Families will be notified when school will be closed through our mass communication system.
Each school building will provide further details on assignments, expectations, and support. Please be on the lookout for that communication.
Attendance is based on assignment completion.
Families will receive further communication from their child’s school with more specific information. If you have any questions or need technology assistance, please reach out to your child's building.
Thank you for your flexibility and support as we work together to keep learning on track!
