Hope Hunter, librarian at Lucy Wortham James Elementary, has been named St. James R-1 School District’s 2023-24 Teacher of the Year.
“Hope Hunter embodies the dedication and excellence we strive for in the St. James R-1 School District. Her commitment to education extends far beyond our district, as evidenced by her active involvement and leadership in MASL,” said Superintendent Tim Webster. “Her passion for literacy and learning has transformed the library into a beacon of inspiration for our students. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments, including the recent Exemplary Designation bestowed upon our elementary library by the state. Hope's tireless efforts truly make her deserving of the Teacher of the Year title, and we are honored to have her as part of our team.”
Hunter has served 24 years in education at St. James R-1. On her Teacher of the Year award, a colleague states, “Hope's passion for literacy and her innovative approach to education makes her an exceptional librarian. She's a true inspiration to both students and colleagues alike.”
Congratulations to Mrs. Hunter on your much-deserved award and our Tiger Community is stronger because of your shining example of excellence.
