Racers listen to the National Anthem before the race begins.

The St. James R-1 School District witnessed an incredible display of community spirit and determination at the 3rd Annual Tiger Trot this morning. Despite the brisk morning chill, almost 100 enthusiastic Tigers gathered to participate in the event, running for a reason.

The Tiger Trot, now a beloved tradition in our district, not only promotes physical activity but also serves a noble cause. All race day proceeds and sponsorship funds go directly into the Gifts for Kids Fund. This initiative ensures that every student in our district receives a special gift before winter break.

"We're so proud of our Tigers," expressed Superintendent Webster. "Their energy and commitment, coupled with the support of our generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers, have made our Gifts for Kids Project possible again this year."

The event wouldn't have been possible without the support of our race day sponsors. This year, we had three Platinum Sponsors: Ben Bahr Construction, LEECO Construction Services, and GRP Wegman as well as many Gold, Silver, and Bronze Sponsors. Their generosity has made a lasting impact, extending warmth and joy to every student in this winter season.

The Tiger Trot fosters a sense of camaraderie among students and reinforces the community's commitment to supporting its youth. The sight of students, staff, and families coming together to run for a cause shows the spirit of togetherness and compassion that defines the St. James Community.

The St. James R-1 School District extends heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors, volunteers, participants, and supporters whose contributions have brightened the season for every student. The success of the Tiger Trot reaffirms the district's commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also a sense of community and compassion among its students.

Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare for our big gift distribution in a few weeks!
