Beta Club students from St. James R-1 School District participated in the State Convention last week to showcase their skills and knowledge. The motto of Beta Club, "Let us lead by serving others," was evident as these young leaders represented our community and school at the state level. National Beta is committed to “recognizing high academic achievement, rewarding and nurturing worthy character, fostering leadership skills and encouraging service to others.”
141 students from Lucy Wortham James Elementary, St. James Middle School, and St. James High School participated either virtually or in-person this year. The convention was a culmination of months of hard work and preparation by the students, who have been practicing and refining their skills in various fields. That hard work paid off as 47 students qualified to attend the National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky this June. This is a testament to the high standards that Beta instills in its members.
“I am so proud of the hard work each of them put into their competitions, whether they were virtual tests or on-site activities,” said Mrs. Becky Daniels, Senior Beta sponsor. “We learned a lot by winning and losing, and we are excited to prepare for nationals!
Thank you to our district sponsors and parent volunteers who supported our Tigers along the way. Your guidance and assistance were invaluable in helping these young leaders achieve their goals.
Congratulations to all our Tigers who participated in the State Convention this year! We wish the National Convention qualifiers good luck and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to make in the future.
