Following an expansive search for talent and experience, the St. James R-1 School District Board of Education on Monday, February 27th, approved the hiring of Mrs.Traci Bahr as Assistant Principal for Lucy Wortham James Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year.
“Bahr comes to us with a passion and desire to impact education that aligns with our mission, vision, core beliefs, and strategic plan. We are excited about bringing her positive energy and collaborative spirit into our administration team” said Mr. Tim Webster, Superintendent. “She brings with her a seventeen year career in education with a depth of experience and she places a strong value on building relationships that I am confident will benefit our students, teachers, schools, and community.”
In addition to her participation in our Aspiring Administration program and serving on Leadership Teams, Bahr is currently a Title I Interventionist at Lucy Wortham James Elementary and has been a classroom teacher at the elementary and high school level here in St. James. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and certification in Elementary Education from Missouri S&T and a Master in Administration from Missouri Baptist University.
“I love getting to engage with students and staff before and after school in fun ways. It makes me want to show up for work everyday and my goal is that it gives our students someone to connect with outside their classroom,” said Bahr. “I hope we can continue to find exciting ways to engage our parents in the school day so they can feel connected to the school and their students' education.”
Mrs. Bahr grew up in Olathe, Kansas, where her parents still reside. She has lived in St. James since marrying her husband in 2007. Bahr has four children with her husband, Ben: stepson Wyatt (18), Lily (14), Adeline (9), and Mabel (4). Aside from her education career and family duties, Bahr loves to read, sew, crochet, and play games with her friends and family.
Mrs. Bahr will begin serving as Assistant Principal on July 1, 2023.
