August 10, 2020

St. James R-I students are scheduled to return to school in less than two weeks. According to our latest registration numbers, the majority of our students will be returning in-person on Tuesday, August 25. Approximately 10% of our students will be connecting virtually. There remain many questions about what school will look like when we return and what the instructional differences will be between seated and virtual students. Our return to school plans continue to be updated as we learn more from the CDC and the Phelps/Maries County Health Department. Due to the many unknowns, we fully anticipate these plans to frequently change. The most up-to-date differences between seated and virtual plans, along with closure plans are shared below:

For all PK-5 seated students at Lucy Wortham James Elementary School

  • All staff will be temperature checked daily
  • All students will be group scanned for temperatures daily
