Last week I announced my resignation as superintendent of the St. James R-I School District effective June 30, 2021. I was offered and have accepted a new position at Cassville R-IV School District in Southwest Missouri. The decision came after a great deal of reflection and did not come quickly or easily. I will always be grateful to the many community members who warmly welcomed me to St. James. As a family, we have made so many wonderful friends and important connections which will last a lifetime. I am thankful for the incredible impact this community has had on my life in so many different ways. One of the first things I noticed upon my arrival to St. James was the outstanding community support of the District and its students. The District is so fortunate to have a strong school-community partnership, one which has great pride in providing exceptional learning and extracurricular opportunities for all students. We have been so pleased with the community’s extraordinary support of the District mission statement to empower students through caring relationships, academic excellence, and community partnerships. As a community, we have overcome so many obstacles this school year through COVID and construction. Now that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel for both challenges, we can truly envision great things for the District moving ahead. My family and I will leave with fond memories of St. James and pride for the many accomplishments the students and staff of STJ Schools have achieved. These accomplishments would not have been possible without the full support of the St. James community and the leadership of the staff and school board. It has been an honor to serve this outstanding District and community as your superintendent. The St. James R-I School District is moving forward in the right direction and I’m excited to see what the future holds for the District and its students. I will always hope for success for the students and staff within the St. James R-I School District and wish continued excellence and growth for the District and community.
