Dear STJ Families,
Due to excessive student quarantines in the middle school building, St. James Middle School will shift into the Hybrid Learning Plan starting Monday, November 30. While we would of course prefer to have all students in the building full time, we are hopeful that reducing the daily population in the middle school building on a temporary basis will help slow the spread of COVID-19 and allow us to fully resume regular operations soon. Middle school students and staff will have the remainder of this week (Nov. 19-20) and next Monday (11/23) and Tuesday (11/24) before the Thanksgiving Break to prepare for the shift into the Hybrid Learning Plan on November 30.
For the hybrid schedule beginning Monday, November 30, students will be divided into 2 groups based on the first letter of their last name. The Red Group will attend seated classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, and learn from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The White Group will attend seated classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and learn from home Mondays and Wednesdays. All students will learn virtually on Friday and have scheduled time to connect with their teachers. Please review this link: Hybrid Learning Plan
The Middle School will be in the Hybrid Learning Plan for the week of November 30 – December 4 with the possibility of it being extended beyond this week.
This does NOT affect Lucy Wortham James Elementary students.
If you have questions or concerns, you may email middle school principal Kaaren Lepper or Assistant Principal Larissa Cutsinger.
We understand this is not the ideal learning format, but based on all of the present community and county trends, we feel this is what is the safest option for our middle school students and staff at this time.
