Health Services

Mission

Students in the St. James R-1 School District will be provided accessible health care while we promote prevention and partner with parents and staff to enable students to perform at their personal best.

Quick Reminders

  • Wash hands frequently, before/after eating, after using the restroom and after blowing the nose. If soap and water are unavailable, use hand sanitizer.

  • Cover all coughs and sneezes.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Germs spread this way.

  • Keep your child home if he or she is ill.

  • Fever is considered equal to or greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Stay up to date on all immunizations.

  • Eat nutritious meals, drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest to build strong immune systems.

  • Get lots of exercise and sunshine.

Immunization Requirements

  • All new incoming Pre-Schoolers must be up-to-date.

  • All new incoming Kindergarteners must be up-to-date.

  • Students entering 8th grade will need a Tdap (Tetanus Booster) and a MCV (Meningococcal Vaccine).

  • Students entering 12th grade must have two doses of MCV (Meningococcal Vaccine).  Unless the first dose was administered after the student's 16th birthday, then only one dose is required.
