Learning: Whatever it Takes
I’m happy to announce once again with the dedication of our students, staff and the support of our parents and community St. James Schools was been awarded the “Distinction in Performance Award” recently. This is an award that comes from Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The award is given based off several different criteria, some of which include Missouri Assessment Program scores, College Placement, Graduation Rate, and Attendance Rate. I’m pleased to say that St. James has received this award seven out of the last eleven years.
This last week I was fortunate enough to be asked to attend a dinner with several legislatures and senators (my guest for the evening was Representative Jason Smith who is always a huge supporter of public education). It was a very enjoyable dinner, and although we may not always agree on education issues, I do want to take a moment to thank those individuals in Jefferson City for the time and energy they put into trying to better education in Missouri. They work very hard to research and make the best possible decisions for our students, and for that, they deserve our respect and gratitude.
